As the Hospitality industry embraces more and more technology to improve its service, the industry must recognize the need for keeping all that high tech equipment functioning at its peak.  One of the least expensive–and most revenue producing–ways to accomplish that is to keep the equipment clean and in peak operating condition!  Here are some examples where the cleaning cards and other products from Recognition Technology Specialists, Inc will help you reach those lofty goals:

  • Magnetic stripe door lock readers should require only one insertion. If a guest has to slide a card in and out of his door lock more than once, that guest may reconsider whether to stay with you on his/her next visit to town.  Why would you run the risk of losing a loyal guest over a dirty door lock?  That lock can be cleaned for less than $30.00/year!  Are your guests so unimportant to your that you cannot afford to spend $30.00 or less per year cleaning door locks?
  • Credit/Debit/Door Card Readers should read on the first swipe. These swipe type devices take the same cleaning cards as the door locks!  If you cannot get a card to read on the first swipe, then you seriously need to clean your reader!  If you are standing there swiping a card multiple times–in today’s environment–a guest may think you are skimming their credit card number and not stay with you in the future!  Can you afford to allow your facility to look bad at the front desk, the bars, restaurants, gift shops, or other location where a guest may use his card at your property when you can keep those readers functioning at peak efficiency for less than $30.00 /year?
  • Does your back office count cash? Do you have a currency counter in your back office?  Don’t let it jam and put a drag on your efficiency because the money has dirtied up your machine!  RTS has cleaning cards designed specifically for cleaning currency counters.
  • Has your property converted over to LCD HDTVs yet? If you have, then you need to know some simple rules for cleaning them and keeping them working.  First, no glass cleaners that contain ANY harsh solvent and particularly ammonia or alcohol!  Those WILL ruin your screen and cause permanent damage!  Next, do not spray anything directly on the screen.  The edges of LCD monitors have active electronic components on them, a run or drip that gets behind the bezel of the screen can short out the entire unit and ruin it.  NEVER clean more than one screen with the same cloth.  This can result in cross contamination where your cloth picks up some sort of contaminant from the first screen and deposits it on the second screen.  You should be using a single use, dual wet / dry system designed and tested for use on LCD and plasma screens.  Our system, employed once each week, will cost less than $54.00 per year to clean a screen.  In quantity the cost drops.  This system comes packaged 25 sets to a box.  Don’t risk permanently damaging a screen over just a few dollars.  A damaged screen leaves guest with a much lower impression of your property and may cause them to stay with your competitors next time.
